A long stretch of pale sand and turquoise waters set within the Ses Salines d’Eivissa i Formentera Natural Park, backed by dunes and centuries-old juniper trees. The beach has a lively atmosphere during the summer season, while its gentle slope and shallow sandy seabed make it ideal for families. A scenic walk leads to the Tower of Ses Portes, offering spectacular coastal views. Easily accessible by car, public transport, or cycle path, the beach is equipped with showers, toilets, an accessible ramp for visitors with reduced mobility, public telephones, equipment rentals, and a wide choice of restaurants. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer season. It is also one of Ibiza’s most popular beaches, renowned for its beach restaurants and its close proximity to Ibiza Town.

Follow the Airport Road until you reach the outskirts of Sant Jordi de ses Salines. From there, take the signposted left-hand turn towards Es Canal, where the beach is located.
TRANSPORT:: Car, bicycle (via the dedicated cycle path), or regular bus services, with a stop just a few metres from the beach.
DISTANCES: 11 km from Ibiza Town and 26 km from Sant Josep de sa Talaia.

South-facing, the beach is typically exposed to light to moderate onshore winds blowing from the sea towards the shore.

The views from the beach are exceptionally beautiful, overlooking the distinctive islets of Es Freus and the island of Formentera. .

Located beside the salt ponds of Ses Salines—part of the protected Ses Salines Natural Park—the area is renowned for its outstanding natural scenery and rich birdlife, including numerous wild and water birds. A network of scenic walking trails winds through pine woods and the island’s characteristic conifer vegetation. As this is a protected nature reserve, visitors are asked to respect all park regulations and follow the guidance of the park rangers to help preserve this unique environment.

The beach features a designated 500-metre open-water swimming lane, with markers indicating the distance covered from the starting point.
