{"id":6718,"date":"2016-03-04T11:44:54","date_gmt":"2016-03-04T11:44:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/en\/sports-activities\/kayaking-sant-josep-ibiza\/ruta-en-kayak-desde-cala-tarida-a-cala-bassa\/"},"modified":"2020-01-27T14:03:35","modified_gmt":"2020-01-27T13:03:35","slug":"cala-tarida-to-cala-bassa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/en\/active-tourism\/kayaking\/cala-tarida-to-cala-bassa\/","title":{"rendered":"Kayak route from Cala Tarida to Cala Bassa &#8211; Ibiza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=z5YVYhWup8YU.kXPR-_B_84W8\" width=\"780\" height=\"480\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>TIME: 3.30 Hours<br \/>\nLONGITUDE: 7,2 Miles<br \/>\nDIFFICULTY: Medium<br \/>\nSTARTING POINT: Cala Tarida<br \/>\nARRIVAL POINT: Cala Bassa<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOW TO GET THERE<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 18\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>We leave from Sant Josep, along the road PM-803 heading fro Sant Antoni and at about 500 metres we take the left turning to the signposted Cala Tarida; and following the signs till reaching the beach.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>CROSSING<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 18\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>We start the crossing heading North, and after a rocky area with cli s we reach Cala Corral; a very deep cove with a small marina (Coralmar) at the bottom, where there are no services, although there are a large number of dry dock huts with ramps where we can disembark.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 18\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Farther on, after a rocky point, we come across a small inlet called Cala Llentia, with rocks and algae, although disembarking is possible. We continue until we reach Cala Codolar, a sandy cove with easy disembarking, where the pine tree forest reaches the shore, it is quite quiet and there is a small kiosk or bar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5103\" src=\"https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_0216.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0216\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_0216.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_0216-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_0216-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/IMG_0216-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 18\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>We continue rounding the small cliffs below Puig des Dofi\u0301, with a large urbanisation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 18\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>After crossing the Punta des Niu de s&#8217;A\u0300guila (where the osprey nests), we nd a bay called Sa Figuera Borda, where there is a large cave which used to be used by smugglers, and is currently used for shermen\u2019s huts located on either side, whose ramps enable disembarking.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 18\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Following the cli s we reach Sa punta de s \u0301Embarcador (most western part of the island), where we will have a closer view of the islet s \u0301Espartar and Ses Bledes in the distance. Afterwards, this area of cli s will lead us to several small coves, one with a bar-kiosk called Es reco\u0300 den Xic, and the beaches of Cala Comte, we will exercise maximum precaution at this point on passing between s \u0301escull de ses Punxes and the coast. A little farther o is s \u0301Escull Llarg, s \u0301Illa des Bosc and much farther along the island of Sa Conillera.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2370\" src=\"https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/calaconta_IMG_3826.jpg\" alt=\"Platges de Comte\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/calaconta_IMG_3826.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/calaconta_IMG_3826-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.santjosep.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/calaconta_IMG_3826-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 19\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>This area has a lot of seagoing tra c and currents with ne sandy beaches on either side where we will enjoy some crystalline depths. The beach has bars, restaurants and all the facilities; in addition it has a large parking area on the peak; so preserving its condition as a virgin beach. As to navigation this is an area with strong winds and the possibility of encountering waves on disembarking.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 19\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Further on we come across a jetty, with passenger boats and several co- ves with dry dock huts. From here the view of Sa Conillera is impressive; we will tour the island in the next route.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 19\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>We will continue to Punta de Sa Torre (where you can nd the tower of Rovira, an old defence tower); rounding it we leave behind the islet of Es Pallaret on our port and the islets of Es Farallons on our starboard. In this area we have to be careful of the lar- ge amount of semi-submerged rocks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 19\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>After Cala Rotja, where it is possible to disembark, and after Punta del Cap de la Bassa, we nally reach Cala Bassa.
