Tourism quality with a destination-wide vision

Sant Josep de sa Talaia Town Council is part of SICTED and works to build a destination where quality, sustainability and continuous improvement are shared commitments across public services and the tourism sector.

What is SICTED?

SICTED is a programme promoted by Spain’s State Secretariat for Tourism, with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). It aims to continually improve destinations and the services that form part of the visitor experience.

Since 2026, it has evolved into SICTED – Sustainability, Intelligence and Tourism Quality in the Destination Ecosystem. It places greater emphasis on environmental, social and economic sustainability, quality, cooperation and the use of information to manage destinations more effectively.

Quality across tourism services and spaces

Sant Josep brings together villages, tourism areas, natural spaces and an extensive coastline with many beaches. This diversity calls for a joined-up approach to quality across every point of the visitor experience: tourist information, accommodation, restaurants, beaches, transport, shops, activities and public services.

How does it work, and what does it offer businesses?

Participating businesses and services take part in training, introduce good practices, assess their own work, plan improvements and undergo evaluation. Those that meet the requirements may receive the “Commitment to Responsible Tourism” distinction, recognising their dedication to quality, sustainability and continuous improvement.
