Jahrhundert wurde die Kirche f\u00fcr die Salzarbeiter in diesem quart\u00f3 (katalanische Bezeichnung f\u00fcr Hoheitsgebiet) gebaut. Man vermutet, dass es zwischen dem 14. und 15. Jahrhundert bereits eine Kapelle gab, die dem heiligen Georg gewidmet war und dass die Kirche schon vor 1577 existierte und sp\u00e4ter durch eine kleinere ersetzt wurde. Das Auffallendste an der Kirche sind ihre wuchtigen schr\u00e4g angeordnenten Mauern sowie die Zinnen, die das obere Dach umgeben, sie verleihen der Kirche etwas festungsartiges. F\u00fcr diese Bauweise entschied man sich, weil damals diese Gegend der Insel oft von Piraten angegriffen wurde. Fr\u00fcher besa\u00df die Kirche wie andere in den Gebieten von Sant Antoni, Balansat und Santa Eul\u00e0ria einen Seiteneingang. Die Kapellen stammen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, aus einer Zeit, in der das Thema Verteidigung keine gro\u00dfe Rolle mehr spielte. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde das Innere der Kirche renoviert.
