Nachdem das Projekt bewilligt war, begannen die Bauarbeiten im darauffolgenden Jahr. Sie wurden jedoch unterbrochen und erst 1730 unter Leitung des Architekten Pere Ferro wieder aufgenommen. Die Arbeiten dauerten bis zum 23. Juni 1731, der Tag, an dem der letzte Stein gesetzt wurde. 1735, also vier Jahre sp\u00e4ter, errichtete man den Altaraufsatz, der dem heiligen Josef geweiht und von dem mallorquinischen Meister Pere Bosch gebaut wurde. Dieser wurde 1936 in Brand gesetzt und nur die barocke Schnitzerei des Heiligen konnte gerettet werden.<\/p>\n<p>1958 wurde der Altaraufsatz durch eine exakte Nachbildung ersetzt, die laut der Legende \u201emit den Almosen der Gl\u00e4ubigen\u201c bezahlt wurde.<\/p>\n<p>Die Kirche besteht aus einem einzigen Schiff mit rechteckigem Grundriss. Hier sticht die Kapelle Fondo bzw. Kapelle Roser hervor, die sich auf der Westseite im vorderen Bereich befindet. In der Kirche sind noch weitere interessante Kunstwerke erhalten geblieben, wie bspw. die Holzkanzel. Sie wurde 1763 von Jos\u00e9 S\u00e1nchez Oca\u00f1a mit Abbildungen der Mysterien verziert. Die Malereien in den beiden ovalen Elementen der Kapelle Fonda stammen aus dem Jahr 1761 und werden demselben K\u00fcnstler zugeschrieben. Sie zeigen die G\u00f6ttliche Hirtin und die Heilige Jungfrau Maria.
